The ‘reverend’ Jeremiah Wright, bon vivant of the latter day ‘anti-everything-that-isn’t-me’ theology, is a false teacher of the first order, responsible for leading God knows how many poor souls straight from hope to perdition.
Wright’s ministry is notably lacking in the most important component of Christianity; a focus on the need for Salvation, repentance and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ into one’s life as Lord and Master. This alone should suffice to serve as a warning to ‘keep away’ but there are other disturbing elements of his ad hoc ministry:
He is an absolute hater of all that is Judaism as evidenced by this statement :
“…Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for over 40 years now. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community and wake up Americans concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism.”
And this one from a speech in Baltimore in 2011:
‘My pastor, the Rev. Dr. Charles G. Adams, and Jeremiah Wright have been very good friends for over 35 years. Both pastors came of age during the 1960s and the civil-rights era. Both pastors are big-city liberal Democrats, believers in redistributive wealth, unionism, social justice and liberation theology – applying Marxist politics and economic philosophy to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.’
“Despite the thunderous shouts of Amen! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! and hysterical laughter in response to Rev. Wright’s sermon, I knew in my heart that this man standing before me in the pulpit was deceitful to core; a false prophet perverting the word of God like no other person I had ever witnessed”. From ‘Palm Sunday with Rev. Jeremiah Wright’; by Ellis Washington, World Net Daily, 04/02/2010
When Wright was asked “Do you think Muslims will go to heaven?”, he responded with “and other sheep I have which are not of this fold.”; John 10:16.
This masterful editing of scripture would seem to indicate that all paths lead to salvation, but the verse in its entirety reveals something quite a bit different: “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I [Jesus] must bring, and they shall hear my [Jesus] voice; and there shall be one fold, and one Shepherd [Jesus]. “ (excerpt and summary from Wendy Dawn, Yahoo Contributor Network)
Wright knows his Bible and quotes scripture at will. His convincing delivery, thanks to well-honed skills in public speaking , serves to lull his audiences into a state of near-hypnosis during which he inculcates in them his special hatred of Jews, Europe, democracy, forgiveness, etcetera and leaves the void of damnation unfilled with his lack of dependence on Jesus and his absolute love of and dependance upon self.
In the spirit of knowing them by their fruits, daughter Jeri L. Wright was indicted for money laundering; and we have Wright’s own scandal, an alleged affair with church worker Elizabeth Payne.
Jeremiah Wright has all but fallen out of the public eye since the backlash against his infamous ‘God-damn America’ speech, but his poisonous rhetoric still bears fruit in the minds of those who cleave to his teachings. Be aware of any who support this wolf in sheep’s clothing. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
