Joseph Prince

Joseph Prince

Joseph Prince (birth name Xenonamandar Jegahusiee Singh) , mega-star bon vivant of the Word of Faith apostasy, was born in Singapore on the 15th of May in 1963 to a Chinese mother and a Sikh priest from India. Prince changed his name to Joseph Prince while an IT Consultant. (, )

Prince founded New Creation Church in 1983, it has since grown to become a financial behemoth, raking in $45 million in 2008. (,

(The following is this writers opinion, based on extensive research and viewing of Prince’s entertainment broadcasts.)

Prince’s website, the humbly named, is a mirror of other sites propagating the gospel of self. Books and broadcasts about not being subject to guilt or shame; easily obtained eternal forgiveness with no need for repentance; a singular focus on God’s unconditional love with the absence of judgement and expectation of obedience; the absolving of personal responsibility in one’s own life, among others, result in cultivating masses of followers who abdicate their responsibility to listen to the still small voice of the Spirit and practice discernment in exchange for the allure of the gospel of wealth and pleasure.

Cultivating a meticulous personal presentation, Prince is carefully capped, coiffed and blow-dried, sporting well-trimmed eyebrows and a soft, dimpled smile that appeals to women en masse, as well as not an inconsiderable number of ‘men’. These almost androgynous qualities are in line with the current, modern evolution of the traditional roles of men and women to the crossover roles of today. Prince is not a threat to anyone or anything, nor does he present a definitive statement in favor of anything other than happiness derived from material gain and personal aggrandizement. Truly a ‘lover of self’, this manifestation of soft-spoken preacher appeals to those with itchy ears looking to hear that which will encourage their self-esteem, their love of self and not turning to God for definition of worth and meaning.

Prince’s theology is heretical at best, satanic at it’s worst. Let’s examine a few key points of his belief system.

“A sampling of Joseph Prince’s false teachings:

Nothing but blessings for the believer

No longer a need to be concerned about God’s Judgment

Repentance and confession of sin is never necessary

Wealth is for all Christians

God is continually restoring “New Truths” to the church—-New Revelations

Prince’s personal revelation from God is: “More grace; less judgment”

Prince believes that God WILL NOT JUDGE America because of the cross

The Moral law has no bearing on Christians today; it was abolished with the Ceremonial law

Prince says that he never encountered anyone that said “now I can go out and sin because of grace”

Repentance means “Only to turn around”

(thanks to “Destined to Reign…BUT WHERE ?”, Charisma Magazine” )

2Timothy 4:3-4 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, (4) and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

In his book Destined to Reign p.271, he is giving thanks to God for Kenneth Hagin and what he has learned from him. He is even saying that Kenneth Hagin is a man of God. He also says that it is due to Kenneth Hagin that he can see more clearly into the Word of God and that Hagin had a special revelation of faith from God. (Ibid.)

Who was Ken Hagin ?

Kenneth Hagin was a False Teacher & False Prophet. He was known as the“Father of the Modern Faith Movement”. He had numerous False Prophecies;Taught False Teachings of: Word of Faith; Prosperity gospel; saying Christians are“little Gods” and many more unbiblical things. Kenneth Hagin died on: 9/23/03.

…according to Joseph Prince, a Christian can accept Christ and live a life of sin and for the flesh because he/she is already forgiven and there is no need to live “holy and blameless” as the Apostle Paul admonished us to do in 1 Thessalonians 4:7: “For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God., who give his Holy Spirit it you.”

You may be saying, “I heard Prince say just the opposite in a sermon.” Yes, there seems to be a “double-speak” coming through his sermons at times also. He is clearly in the Word of Faith Movement which is made up of many of the most well-known televangelists. The Word of Faith Movement teaches ”grave” biblical error to say the very least.

If you listen to Joseph Prince and “cannot see ” what this article is pointing out; then I would suggest that you take a Basic Course in Biblical Doctrines. Prince is attractive and winsome. Do not follow because of personality but follow those that teach “sound doctrine.” ( 2 Timothy 4:3-5) ”For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine….” (Ibid.)

This from

The Ceremonial law was fulfilled in the New Covenant (New Testament) by the death of Christ on the cross. We have no more need for sacrifices for the forgiveness of our sins. Christ was the Passover Lamb and the provision for our salvation. However, nowhere in the Bible has the “Moral law” been abolished. It is still wrong to murder, steal, commit adultery, etc. etc.

In fact, Jesus raised the standard in the Old Testament to a higher standard in the New Covenant. He said, “You have heard it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

If Joseph Prince is correct; then why did Jesus make the keeping of the Moral law even tougher and stricter?
Prince may be fairly new to the scene but the doctrine he teaches isn’t something new nor is it a ”New Revelation”. “Antinomianism” was what the Apostle Paul came against in the Early Church. (Please read the entire books of Galatians and Hebrews.). Definition: Antinomianism is the teaching that under the gospel, the moral law is of no use nor are Christians obligated to keep it. So in other words, according to Joseph Prince, a Christian can accept Christ and live a life of sin and for the flesh because he/she is already forgiven and there is no need to live “holy and blameless” as the Apostle Paul admonished us to do in 1 Thessalonians 4:7: “For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God., who give his Holy Spirit it you.”

Michael Fackerell from this article, “Joseph Prince says turning from sin not necessary for justification or forgiveness”, Said the following, in the tradition of the Bereans;

“Jesus is One with His Word. Once you start in your mind to separate Jesus and His Word, you are on the way to worshiping “Another Jesus” – not the Jesus who is actually Savior and Lord. So for this reason we would be wise to do what the Bible says – namely “Test all things. Hold fast to what is good. Avoid every form of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22). We need to evaluate things in the light of God’s Word to do this. If we effectively DESPISE or DOWNPLAY certain parts of God’s Word, especially parts of the NEW TESTAMENT, we ARE in danger. These things were written for a reason. The many warnings written to Christians and disciples were written for a reason.” Michael Fackerell

Indeed. Satan comes to us clothed as a minister of light and his minions do the same. There are preachers the world over who, in the tradition of Simon Magus, have determined that buying or selling the gifts of the spirit is a shortcut to righteousness.

Moving along, we see that Prince’s brand of salvation cannot hold up the the light of Biblical examination. More from Fackerell (MF = Michael Fackerell, JP = Joseph Prince):

JP: Not only your past sins, but your entire life – God put it at Jesus, all the sins of your entire life – even tomorrow, next year, next month, next century., … God put all your sins in the body of Jesus and Jesus paid for ALL your sins, and God is so pleased with what Jesus did, that God raised Jesus from the dead. Now listen carefully, … God’s law must be honored … Jesus came and he suffered the consequences of the broken law.

MF: My comment: This is true, but it is usually mentioned as some kind of proof that no amount of unbelief and sin on the part of a born again Christian can possibly affect their justification with God. The jump in logic from here goes something like ..“since God already paid for the sins you are going to commit tomorrow, you are free to go and commit them, because they are paid for, and God would be unholy if he punished you again.”

JP: If God punish you for your sins today, I say this reverently, then God is unholy, because God in his holiness, when Jesus carried our sins, God had no choice but to punish his own beloved Son, for the sins that he carried. It was not his own sins it was our sins. And God in his holiness punished every iota, every item of sin that he was carrying. Because it has been punished, you know what, YOU ARE FREE. And if today God punishes you for your sin, that would make God unholy. God’s holiness today is FOR YOU. That’s the reason why, there is therefore now no condemnation.

MF: My Comments: Only IN HIM do we have forgiveness of sins. (Ephesians 1:7). We are not IN HIM if we are not willing to yield ourselves to God. I will now post what the apostle John said about being in Christ and about those who would say that the PRACTICE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS has nothing to do with whether you are of God or not – exactly the kind of heresy Joseph Prince is preaching.

1 John 3:3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

1 John 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

1 John 3:6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

1 John 3:10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

MF: Prince is judging God here in fact, and stating that according to Joseph Prince’s rules of reasoning, if Jesus paid for the sin, God would be unholy to judge you. If Prince is right, then God would also be unholy to judge the sinner who never believed in Jesus at all, because after all, Jesus paid for that sinner’s sin, and God should have no further right to judge that sinner. Especially if there are really NO CONDITIONS to receiving forgiveness as Prince states later in his message.

MF: God has NEVER stated that gives anyone a free pass to sin. Justification has always been by faith, never by lawkeeping, but it must be a LIVING FAITH, which has works of repentance and a change of heart concerning sin. Those who would deny this seem to be very ignorant of the whole counsel of God. Its hard to believe that people could consider the whole Bible account of God’s dealings with men and conclude that he gives unrepentant people a free pass to sin. Even King David repented of his sin. If he had not repented, he would certainly have been lost, as was Saul.”

(Thanks to: Michael Fackerell “Joseph Prince says turning from sin not necessary for justification or forgiveness”,

We see here that Prince and his twisted theology do not hold up to careful examination. But because this man is so dangerous, and commands such a huge following, it behooves us to examine further the truth behind the message being spewed from the microphone.

The shed Blood of Christ washes away our sin (Matthew 26:28  For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.) and the Baptism (Romans 6:3-6 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”) by water symbolizes the death of the old man and the birth of the new (Romans 6:3-6; 2 Corinthians 5:17). However, there is to be found nowhere in the Bible a statement that once we are forgiven for our past sins, we are forgiven for all future sins as well. There is also nowhere in the Bible to be found the idea that once we are saved to eternal life that we are never in danger of losing that. We are saved to eternal life, not eternally saved in this life.

False conversion, backsliding to a life of dependence upon and satisfying the desires of the flesh, all contribute to the danger of distance from the Cross and friendship with the world. Friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4:4  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 5  Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 6  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9  Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.)

Joseph Prince would have us believe that it is legalism to adhere to the teachings of the New Testament writers whom we all agree wrote the Word of God as inspired by the Holy Spirit. Legalism is the idea that man must contribute to his own salvation by following various of the laws of Moses. Following the commandments of God and the refinements taught by Jesus is not legalism and it is dangerous to teach it as such, for by focusing on one teaching, grace, rather than on all teachings; “To look at a woman with lust is to commit adultery” (Matthew 5:28), “To be angry with your brother is to commit murder” (Matthew 5:22), we are ignoring the responsibility that lies upon our shoulders to not squander the Grace of God, but to live it and share it with others.

Joseph Prince is failing the Body of Christ and turning many away from a true and profound relationship with Christ in exchange for a relationship with themselves. I and others call him out as being numbered with the false prophets and teachers warned against from Genesis to Revelation.

Legalism is a term used liberally by those who follow the word of faith and prosperity doctrines of these latter days as a way of warding off those who would profess a Biblical denunciation of these false gospels. But again, legalism is the assumption that one must, by observing certain rules, contribute to one’s own Salvation. That is in itself wrong, only the drawing of one to the shed Blood of Christ by the Father, followed by repentance and baptism, are defined as being necessary for Salvation, however, in the words of Christ, there are some things we must do to ensure our maintenance of that gift. To wit: “And behold, one came and said to him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said to him, Why call you me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments” (Matthew 19:16-17); “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city” (Revelation 22:12-14); “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that says, I know him and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keeps his word, in him truly is the love of God perfected: and hereby know we that we are in him” (1 John 2;3-5)

According to the legalism argument, the Apostles Matthew, Paul and John were legalists of the highest order. Or were they? Perhaps it is as simple as my earlier statement of opinion that Prince and his ilk are false prophets greasing the skids to hell for their congregations.

I can hear now the cries of ‘Judge Not!’, but let us end with the Words of our Saviour Himself:

Matthew 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. 16  But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established 17  And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

The Bread of Life (Teaching of Christ), found in the Bible is the source of nourishment, and is sufficient to it. (Matthew 4:4 …It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.)

I pray that Joseph Prince repent of his false gospel, turn away from the doctrines of men, and lead his congregation to true repentance and Salvation in the shed blood of our God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, the only Name under heaven given among men whereby we MUST be saved.
